‘1. Pepsi launches an e-commerce site for its brand collaborations
To strengthen its licensing business PepsiCo has launched an e-commerce site called House of Pepsi, as reported by The Drum. It houses clothing and accessory lines from PepsiCo’s brand collaboration with labels like Forever21. However, it’s to be noted that the website isnt a direct to consumer site. Each product directs to brand partners page from where consumers can purchase.
2. Netflix to release its first scripted podcast on Nov 7
Netflix is branching out beyond scripted video and nonfiction podcasts as it’s set to release its own scripted show called the only podcast left. A fictional companion to its zombie show Daybreak It will premiere exclusively on Spotify on November 7.
3. Facebook partners with 200 media outlets for its News tab
Facebook has partnered with 200 news outlets for its News tab, according to media reports. Through its News services it will help the publishers to earn, as mentioned by Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook is reported to pay $3 million to licence headlines and previews of news articles.
4. Nissan names Lavanya Wadgaonkarto global comms role
Finally, Nissan has appointed Lavanya Wadgaonkar as GM and Head, Global Corporate Communications for Nissan, effective today. She will be based in Japan and report to Sadayuki Hamaguchi, Chief Communications Officer of Nissan.
