1. McCann Appoints Chris Macdonald as CEO & Chair, Harjot Singh as Global CSO
McCann Worldgroup has made two executive appointments to strengthen the leadership team at the advertising agency, McCann. Chris Macdonald, previously president of advertising and allied brands at McCann Worldgroup, will become CEO and chair at McCann. Harjot Singh, who was chief strategy officer for McCann Worldgroup EMEA, will move into the new position of global CSO at McCann advertising. As reported by campaign India, the appointments are among the first major executive moves under McCann Worldgroup CEO, Bill Kolb, who officially took the reins from CEO Harris Diamond on 1 Jan 2021.
2. Viacom18 Ropes in Kunal Gaur as Chief Commercial Officer
Viacom18 has appointed Kunal Gaur as its Chief Commercial Officer. Gaur will be taking over from Utpal Das who ends his stint at Viacom18 on 31 March 2021. Prior to joining Viacom18, Gaur was a part of Netflix India’s leadership team in the capacity of Director, Production Finance. As per exchange4media, Kunal Gaur will be reporting into Rahul Joshi, MD, Network18.

Castrol India has appointed Jaya Jamrani as vice president – marketing to lead Castrol’s marketing function for India. As noted by The Economic Times, Jaya will lead the marketing strategy for India across business segments, including forging strategic partnerships for growth.

Online education platform, upGrad has appointed Zubin Gandevia as CEO- Asia Pacific, according to exchange4media. Gandevia joins from Fox Networks Group Asia where he was working as President, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East for 14 years. Prior to Fox, he was managing director at National Geographic Channel India.
