1. Times Group Chairperson Indu Jain Is No More

Times Group Chairperson Indu Jain has passed away due to Covid-related complications. As reported by exchange4media, Jain was also the founder of the Times Foundation, the company’s vehicle for philanthropic activities, and also founded the women’s wing of the industry lobby FICCI. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2016.

2. Disney+ Surpasses 100 Million Subscribers

Disney+ now has over 103 million global paid subscribers, the company said in its Q2 earnings report. The streaming service has gained more than three million subscribers since March 2021, which was the last time subscriber details were shared. As per Variety, Disney now expects to have 230 to 260 million subscribers worldwide by 2024.


3. Chaka Sobhani Promoted to Global Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett

haka Sobhani has been promoted to global chief creative officer of Leo Burnett.  Representing Leo Burnett on a global stage, Sobhani will be responsible for evolving the Publicis Groupe network’s creative standards, as well as recruiting and growing the next generation of creative talent, with a focus on diversity and inclusion. As per campaign India, she replaces Liz Taylor, who is leaving the agency.

4. Reddit Launches ‘KarmaLab’

Reddit has launched ‘KarmaLab’, an in-house creative and strategy agency that offers insights, workshops, community management and campaign development for brands looking to connect with Reddit’s 52 million daily active users. KarmaLab, which evolved out of Reddit’s creative strategy team, has had some of “the most in-demand offerings for Reddit partners” over the past year, according to campaign India. KarmaLab is just shy of 20 people and is currently hiring.

5. GoAir Rebrands as ‘Go First’

GoAir has rebranded itself to become ‘Go First’. At the heart of this revamp is the full embrace of the ‘ultra-low cost airline model’, reports afaqs. To communicate this change, Go First dons a rebranded identity. The airline is also currently in the process of transitioning all its operations under this new brand.
