1. Vivo Mobile Reports 11.72% Dip in FY20 Advertising Expenses
Vivo Mobile India has reported an 11.72% dip in its FY20 advertising promotional expenses at Rs 1133.71 crore compared to Rs 1284.3 crore in FY19. According to exchange4media, Vivo’s net loss widened to Rs 348.94 crore compared to Rs 18.94 crore in the previous fiscal. The company has recorded an increase in sales as compared to the sales of the financial year 2018-19. Overall sales increased by 45.68% against the previous year. Revenue from operations climbed to Rs 25060.9 crore from Rs 17201.7 crore a year ago.

Kia Motors India has appointed Hardeep Singh Brar as National Head of Sales and Marketing, with immediate effect. As reported by afaqs, Brar will be responsible for enhancing Kia’s leadership position in the Indian market and enabling the next wave of growth. He most recently served at Great Wall Motors as Director Marketing & Sales.

Dilen Gandhi, senior director and category head for foods at PepsiCo India has stepped down. Anshul Khanna, who has been with PepsiCo for close to two decades, is set to take over Gandhi’s role, as reported by livemint. Gandhi is set to join Reckitt Benckiser as as Regional Marketing Director, Health, South Asia.
4. Facebook Unveils ‘Learning from Videos’
Facebook has unveiled a new project called ‘Learning from Videos’ which is designed to automatically learn audio, textual, and visual representations from the data in publicly available videos uploaded to Facebook. The first application is now live in Instagram Reels’ recommendation system. As noted by exchange4media, the project is made to improve Facebook’s core AI systems for applications like content recommendation and policy enforcement.
