1. Facebook to invest $1 billion in creators
By the end of 2022, Facebook plans to invest over $1 billion in programs that give creators new ways to earn money for the content they create on Facebook and Instagram. This investment will include new bonus programs that pay eligible creators for hitting certain milestones when they use FB’s creative and monetisation tools.
2. Twitter to pull the plug on Fleets
The microblogging platform has announced that the Fleets feature will no longer be available on the platform from August 3 this year. The company, however, added that it would use its learning from Fleets, and focus on creating other ways in which people can join a conversation.
3. India’s OTT entertainment industry to be at $15 billion by 2030
A report by RBSA Advisors says that the size of the OTT market in FY20 stood in the range of US $1.7 billion (both video and audio). The industry has the potential to grow to be a US $15 billion industry over the next nine to 10 years.
4. Publicis Groupe acquires retail media platform CitrusAd
CitrusAd is present in 22 countries, with half of its business based in the United States. Publicis Groupe plans for the business to operate as a standalone entity under Epsilon, which plans to incorporate its identity solution, CORE ID, into the platform.
