1. Omnicom posts 11.3% organic growth in Q2’22
Omnicom’s Q2’22 results saw revenue at $3.5 billion. Operating margins were down slightly, decreasing to 15.2% from 15.9% last year. Organic growth clocked in at 11.3%, or $403.8 million year over year, down from the 11.9% posted in Q1.
2. Netflix lost 970,000 subscribers; Posts 7.9% YOY growth in Q2’22
Netflix has reported that it lost 970,000 subscribers in the April-June period. It has now estimated that it will add 1 million customers in the July-September quarter. As per reports, the Q2 revenue stands at $7.9 billion, a 9% year-on-year increase.
3. Rob Gilby appointed CEO APAC at Dentsu International
Dentsu International has appointed Robert (Rob) Gilby as CEO APAC, Dentsu International, effective 5 September 2022. He joins Dentsu from Nielsen where he is APAC president. He replaces Ashish Bhasin, who retired in December 2021.
4. Havas launches Cake in India
Havas Group has announced the launch of UK-based creative agency Cake in India. Cake is a creative agency specialising in sport, culture, and entertainment. Rajika Mittra will lead the agency in India as Managing Partner.
5. GroupM introduces global framework for media decarbonization
The framework will break down the media value chain and define the necessary data inputs to measure carbon emissions across all five stages of the advertising lifecycle for all formats, channels and markets as per the Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s standards.
6. RIL pads up for Cricket South Africa’s T20 league
Reliance Industries has announced that it will acquire a franchise in Cricket South Africa’s upcoming T20 league. Based in Cape Town, the new franchise will take forward the Mumbai Indians brand.
7. CBC has 1154 fresh empanelment applications
The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), the nodal body under the Information & Broadcasting ministry that is responsible for the dissemination of central government ads, has received 1154 fresh applications for empanelment from newspapers and magazines.
