Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) have signed an exclusive, non-binding term sheet to combine their linear networks, digital assets, production operations and program libraries. The combined company would be a publicly listed company in India. As noted by The Economic Times, SPNI would hold a majority stake and Punit Goenka, current ZEEL managing director and chief executive officer, will lead the combined company.
