On Day 3 of Cannes Festival of Creativity, Ogilvy India bagged a bronze Creative Data Lion for #NotJustACadburyAd campaign. India has also clinched 21 more shortlists, taking the total count for this year’s festival to 77. Yesterday, ‘Project Free Period’ by DDB Mudra won a Gold Lion in Creative Strategy, under the audience insight sub-category. Dove’s #StopTheBeautyTest campaign picked a Silver Lion in FMCG subcategory under Creative Strategy Lions. The 8-bit Journo picked up a total of three metals – a Silver Lion in Creative Strategy, another Silver in Direct and one Bronze in Direct. ‘H for Handwashing’, created in partnership by Lowe Lintas Mumbai and Singapore won a Bronze Media Lion. FCB Interface won a Silver PR Lion for ‘The Punishing Signal campaign’ after picking five metals on day 1.
2. Facebook Adds ‘Shops’ to WhatsApp
Facebook has added ‘Shops’ feature to messaging app WhatsApp. The social media giant launched ‘Shops’ last year as a way for people to find and buy products on Facebook and Instagram. As per TechCrunch, the feature is being rolled out in some parts of the United States as of now and the company is likely to expand it to other countries.

Verizon India has appointed Vijayaraman Subramanian as the vice president and managing director. In his new role, Subramanian will play a key role in spearheading and evolving Verizon India as a strategic development centre and an emerging innovation hub. According to livemint, Subramanian takes over from Kalyani Sekar who moved to the US to take on a global leadership role within the organization.

AMV BBDO has appointed Sam Hawkey as the new chief executive officer. As per adweek, Hawkey joins AMV BBDO from Saatchi & Saatchi where he spent 9 years. Meanwhile, 72andSunny Asia Pacific chief and partner Chris Kay will replace Hawkey as Saatchi & Saatchi London CEO.
