1. Star India Acquires Media Rights Of CSA
Star India has acquired the media rights of Cricket South Africa (CSA) till the end of the 2023/24 cricket season. The deal means that Star has got the broadcast deals across Asia, Middle East and North Africa. According to campaign India, the agreement grants Star India exclusive rights across linear and digital mediums including all India tours to South Africa in this period. With this, Star’s cricket portfolio now consists of ICC, BCCI cricket, Indian Premier League apart from other cricket rights.
2. Pinterest Tests Online Events
Pinterest is getting into online events, as reported by TechCrunch. The company has been spotted testing a new feature that allows users to sign up for Zoom classes through Pinterest, while creators use Pinterest’s class boards to organize class materials, notes and other resources, or even connect with attendees through a group chat option. The company confirmed the test of online classes is an experiment now in development.

Pawan Sharma, National head- revenue (branded content and Bindass), The Walt Disney Company India has quit the company and has joined Network18, as reported by exchange4media. Sharma worked with The Walt Disney Company for over 11 years. In his previous role, Sharma was responsible for ad sales revenue for Bindass channel nationally.

Himalaya Men, from the house of The Himalaya Drug Company, has awarded its digital creative mandate to Kinnect. As per The Economic Times, the account will be handled by the agency’s Mumbai office. Kinnect will be responsible for leveraging the digital space to optimise Himalaya Men’s social-digital visibility, engaging with its growing customer base, as well as handling its social media platforms.

Huffpost India has shut down its operations with effect from 24 November 2020. The announcement was made by its editor-in-chief, Aman Sethi. As per campaign India, the announcement comes after last week’s announcement of Buzzfeed acquiring Huffpost globally. According to reports, Brazil and India were kept out of the deal.
