1. Spotify Allows Listeners to Play Music, Podcasts Directly from Facebook
Spotify has partnered with Facebook to allow listeners to play music and podcasts directly from the social network’s iOS and Android apps. As per The Economic Times, the new integration is rolling out in 27 markets, including the U.S. and Canada, with additional markets to follow in the coming month. Spotify’s paid subscribers would be able to access full playback without advertisements without leaving the Facebook app.

2. Toyota Acquires Lyft
Toyota is acquiring the autonomous car division of ride-hailing platform Lyft for $550 million. Toyota has provided $200 million to Lyft and the $350 million will be paid out to Lyft over five years, The Economic Times reported. Last year, rival Uber sold its autonomous vehicle division to Aurora, a startup founded by the former head of Google’s self-driving project.

3. Zomato Rolls Out Home-Style Meals
Zomato rolled out home-style meals in association with partner restaurants. According to livemint, it has rolled out mini-menus on its app which will provide basic and simple home-cooked meals to those in need. The move follows the platform’s recently added feature that enables priority delivery of food orders meant for covid-19 related emergencies.

Times Music and video sharing app, Triller announced their global licensing partnership. As per exchange4media, the deal would result in making Times Music’s catalogue, with over 56,000 songs, available on the Triller app.

The Viral Fever has appointed Pranav Thakker as national head – brand partnerships. As per afaqs, this is Pranav’s second stint with the company. In his previous stint, he worked as head of brand partnerships – West from Mar 2017 to Jan 2020. Thakker now joins the company from Universal Music Group, where he worked as general manager – new business development for more than a year.
