1. Facebook Appoints Alex Schult As New Global CMO

Facebook has elevated its VP of Product Growth, Analytics & i18n, Alex Schultz as its Global Chief Marketing Officer. The news comes after Antonio Lucio quit from his post last month to dedicate his time for diversity, inclusivity and equity. As per exchange4media, Schultz joined Facebook in 2007 as an analyst, rising through the ranks to become the VP of Product Growth and Analytics in 2014.


2. Google India Announces Initiative To Help Small & Medium Businesses

Google India today has announced a new multi-pronged effort to help small and medium businesses navigate the challenging economic environment and adapt to the new digital-first consumer behaviour. As reported by exchange4media, the new initiative will focus on accelerating the efforts to help businesses build digital presence in partnership with Zoho and Instamojo. Google has also partnered with Dunzo and Swiggy to fast track the on-boarding process, with both partners committing to provide additional support to small businesses to start accepting orders online and enable delivery logistics.


3. MRUC Re-elects Pratap Pawar As Chaiman

The Media Research Users Council India held its 26th annual general meeting on 29 September 2020. During the meeting, Pratap Pawar, chairman, Sakal Media was re-elected as chairman. According to campaign India, Shashi Sinha, CEO, IPG Mediabrands, will continue as vice chairman.
