1. Britannia Industries Calls for Media Review
Britannia Industries has called for a media review of its account estimated to be in the range of Rs 250 to 300 crore.  As per exchange4media, the pitch is believed to be in its initial stages and all leading agencies have been invited to make their presentations. The account is currently with GroupM’s Essence that has been managing the brand for over eight years now.

2. WPP Acquires Majority Stake in Made Thought
WPP has acquired a majority stake in branding and design agency Made Thought which will be integrated into AKQA and will join forces with Universal Design Studio and Map Project Office to form The New Standard.  The New Standard will provide clients with transformational design and creative thinking. This partnership will enable each studio to maintain creative independence while facilitating greater collaboration to deliver connected, cross-platform work, harnessing the specialist talent from across all design disciplines. 

3. Uday Shankar Takes 51% Stake in James Murdoch’s Lupa India
The former chairman of Star India and president of Walt Disney Asia Pacific, Uday Shankar has reportedly taken a 51% stake in investment company Lupa India, as per exchange4media. Lupa Systems is a private holding company founded in 2019 by James Murdoch, the former CEO of 21st Century Fox, Sky plc, and STAR. Lupa focuses on companies within the technology and media industries, impact-driven companies focused on environmental sustainability, and emerging markets, particularly within the Indo-Pacific region.

4. Ola Launches ‘Ola Store’
Ola has re-entered the quick grocery delivery segment with the launch of Ola Store. Ola Store can be accessed from the Ola app itself. In July 2015, Ola attempted to make inroads in the grocery segment by opening a standalone online grocery store in Bengaluru. The intention was to use its cabs and drivers to also deliver groceries, between 9am and 11pm.

5. Samsung Electronics Appoints New Co-CEOs
Samsung Electronics has made changes to its leadership and structure, combining its mobile and consumer-electronics divisions and naming new co-CEOs. Jong-Hee Han, who leads Samsung’s visual display business, has been promoted to now lead the entire newly merged division, which the company refers to as the ‘SET’ division, and becomes the company’s vice chairman and CEO. The other newly named co-CEO of Samsung Electronics is Kyung Kye-hyun, who until now has been CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics.
