1. Wunderman Thompson Appoints Ezinne Okoro as First Global Chief Inclusion, Equity and Diversity Officer

Wunderman Thompson has appointed Ezinne Okoro as its first global chief inclusion, equity and diversity officer. In the newly created role, Okoro will report directly to Wunderman Thompson global CEO, Mel Edwards. According to campaign India, she will set the agency’s vision and strategy for creating a more inclusive workplace in 90 markets across the globe. Okoro was previously the first inclusion and diversity officer for fast-fashion retailer H&M North America.

2. Uber Appoints MediaCom As Global Agency of Record

Uber has appointed GroupM agency, MediaCom, which it already worked with in the US and Australia, as its global agency of record. The remit, effective 1 January 2021, covers every operational market across North America, Latin America, EMEA and Asia. Campaign India reports that the agency will oversee all digital and offline brand media. The account will be led by two US-based execs: Ilana Nolte, chief transformation officer, and Latha Sundaram, group business lead and executive director.


3. Abu Dhabi Investment Authority To Invest In Reliance Retail Ventures

Reliance Industries has announced that a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) will invest Rs 5,512.50 crore for 1.2% stake in its retail arm, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL). With this investment, RRVL has raised Rs 37,710 crore from seven global investors including Silver Lake, KKR, General Atlantic, Mubadala, GIC, TPG and ADIA. Last week, Abu Dhabi-based sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala picked up 1.4 % stake in RRVL for Rs 6,247.5 crore, as noted by livemint.

4. IKEA To Add Small Format Stores In Mumbai in 2021

IKEA will bring its planned small format stores to the city of Mumbai and accelerate its omni-channel strategy here in the county in FY21. As reported by livemint, IKEA is scheduled to open a store in Navi Mumbai and add two small format stores in Mumbai next year. Currently, the retailer has one store in Hyderabad and online sales channels in Pune and Mumbai.


5. Tesco Bengaluru Appoints Nimmi Sebastian As Head Of Communication & CSR

Tesco Bengaluru has appointed Nimmi Sebastian as Head of Communication & CSR. In her new role, she will be the brand custodian of Tesco Business Services across India, Eastern Europe and Scotland and of Tesco Technologies in India. As per exchange4media, Nimmi will join the leadership team and report to Dr Sumit Mitra, CEO of Tesco Business Services and Tesco Bengaluru.
